Most people know that McDonald's helped found and to an extent continues to fund many of the Ronald McDonald House's. Well, Gannett also as a foundation in which they help give back to the community.

Gannett Co. help found the Gannett Foundation which helps communities by giving out grants to non-profit organizations, matching funds donated and much more. In 2008 in total they gave out 9.7 million dollars in grants and matching funds. 

When I saw this sight I didn't think it was tied to the Gannett Co. at all until I began reading and noticed some similarities in their web pages. I think that this is an awesome thing for any company to do. 

I'm sure it does give them some good PR from time to time, but they also help out many organizations that need support from others to be able to offer their services.
